Chakulia is a town with a police station and an assembly constituency in Islampur subdivision of Uttar Dinajpur district in the Indian state of West Bengal.
Chakalia, one of the villages in the Chakulia gram panchayat, is located at 26°01′17″N 87°57′09″E.
Chakulia is a gram panchayat under Goalpokhar II intermediate panchayat. Census villages under Chakulia gram panchayat are as follows: Gerua, Kahata, Chakalia, Kaliara, Beharia, Ghordhappa, Bhuindhar, Birran, Pataura, Bara Pokharia, Andharia, Puar, Pirdauli, Mathura, Dhakania, Gochhra, Majra, Haripur, Pipla, Urpi, Kariat, Baligora, and Bara Shikarpur.Toryal high school is one of the wellestablished schools. it is the glory of chakulia, because many students from toryal are working in different services all over the country. we pay great homage to our school. besides, the locality is well educated. now we are suffering from lack of communication. the administration is very much indifferent to our needs. we are deprived of the basic needs like water supply, sanitary system, hospital, college and girls’ school.
