Infrastructure and Learning Resources

The College has formed a master plan of its campus, showing the existing building with landscape, and future projections. The College campus is built over an area of 13.63 acres of land, which includes department buildings, library, computer center, play ground, hostels, Teacher’s quarters, Principal’s quarters, canteen, pond, mulberry garden, botanical garden, guest house, student and staff’s common room, etc. Its premises are also to run the Distance Education Programmes of North Bengal University, and the study center of Netaji Subhas Open University. The College has recently closed down its Junior College and thereby has acquired extra infrastructural facilities. To keep pace with the growth, the college plans to augment its infrastructure through financial assistance from UGC, contributions from MP fund and collection of development fees from the students. The college maintains its infrastructure from its own resources.  The College Campus is fully utilised for own activities. However, some outside agencies, like Government and Non-Government Organizations are permitted to use the infrastructure for various examinations, social and cultural activities and academic programmes. Every effort is made to keep the campus clean and pollunation free by planting trees and by discouraging smoking in the campus.

The College has a Library with more than 41,500 volumes of text and reference books. 22 Journals / Periodicals and magazines and it subscribes to 5 daily newspapers. There is a reading room attached to the library. Computerization of cataloging and issue sections have been initiated. There is Library Advisory Committee which looks after the proper functioning of the library. The College has facilities for sports. It has a playground for games like football, cricket, volleyball, etc, a common room with indoor games like carrom, table tennis, etc. The Athletic Committee of the Student’s Union conducts Annual Sports Tournaments, both for Indoor and Outdoor games. The College Team participates in the Inter-Collegiate sports events of the University. Students excelling in these activities are given sports accessories, financial help etc.

The College has a Botanical Garden built over an area of 3.5 acres including pond with many rare medicinal plants. The sericulture Department of the College has raised mulberry garden over an area of 1.8 acres. Both the Botanical and Mulberry garden are sources of some income for the College.
