Petition for permanent ban on Facebook in Pakistan

A petition filed in a Pakistan court has sought a permanent bar on access to Facebook over an “anti-Islam competition”.

Judicial Activism Panel chairman Muhammad Azhar Siddique sought a permanent ban on the website as it was hosting a page with a contest named “Everybody Burn Koran Day”. Siddique said in his petition Facebook is also displaying blasphemous pictures of “Khana-e-Kaaba”
